SEO – How to Use Keywords Effectively

Keywords are search terms that are entered into a search engine for finding particular items of interest or topics relating to your website. You should use your keywords and keyword phrases effectively within your site so when a search engine spiders your site, the keywords get picked up. There should be a variety of keywords and keyword phrases used. The most relevant keywords and keyword phrases should be used in the home page title. You should place all relevant keywords and keyword phrases in your Meta tag. Using keyword phrases as opposed to single keywords is generally helpful as single keywords can be very competitive. Avoid overuse of a keyword. In the Meta tag description, use your keywords and keyword phrases and repeat them two or three times. Content of your site is the most important part of keyword placement. Search engines often concentrate on the first 250 words for relevancy and density so use the majority of your keywords there. It may be helpful to write your content without using keywords first, then modify the content to incorporate your most relevant keywords. Keys to Increase Your Website Search Engine Ranking

The most important thing you can understand as a search engine optimization expert is the following: algorithms change. Let's see what those things are: - Number and quality of inbound links pointing to your site - Keyword density - Fresh content The first thing to observe from your competitor's sites is their back link index. This means the number of sites that have a link pointing to their website. You can easily measure it by going to Google and type: "link://www.yourcompetitorssite.com". Yahoo and MSN are much more accurate for measuring the back link index. The second thing you need to observe is the keyword density of your competitors. There are tools to run keyword density against your competitors. If you run them against the top 3 or 5 sites, you may start to understand the secrets of top rankings. If you look unnatural, your page ranks will suffer as a result. The last thing to observe is how much fresh content do the top sites have. Read more in French: Internet-Autres and SEO et Internet

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing programs are a great way to get income for your website, and a great introduction to e-commerce. Affiliate marketing programs are where a company offers to pay you a set amount for either a click through from your website, or a set amount for visitors signing up, or even a percentage of a purchase made by visitors as a result of being referred from your website.

Even if visitors don't make a purchase immediately, almost all programs offer cookie duration, normally consisting of 30 - 90 days. The biggest amount of time in maintaining your site will be searching and implementing affiliations with various companies. If you use too many banners or links on any web page, it can confuse and help to irritate your visitors. Affiliate tracking can also be a problem. It's very important that you implement this code into your page correctly, or you may be sending visitors to the company without receiving any profit. A majority of snippets in the code will contain a unique user ID, which the company uses to distinguish which site sent traffic. More in French on Site design and Affiliation (super affiliƩ)
