Meet Gia Ruiz, Danny McBride’s girlfriend and now wife. The Eastbound and Down star married his girlfriend in a ceremony on a whim. Yes, he and Gia eloped. Read more about their wedding and see photos here!
Gia Ruiz, Danny McBride’s girlfriend became a McBride on October 9th, 2010 when the couple decided to elope. We don’t have a lot of information on their big day, but we do have a bit of information on how they met. Ruiz and McBride are said to have met while working on Danny’s hit show Eastbound & Down. Gia apparently works in the art department as art director for the HBO show.
Gia currently works for HBO and they are working now on season two together. About the hit show and its potential longevity, McBride explained how the network and cast have been dealing with the show’s success. Danny told a source, “We’ve approached each season … where, we have no idea if we’ll be able to do it again, so we try to make it where it could be self-contained. But if we’re allowed to continue, we kind of know where to go. In our wildest dreams, this was like a three-season show that arced over those three seasons, so we do have an idea of where to go: It’s to an Ewok village, next season is ‘Return of the Jedi.’ There’s all this parallel action between a space station and a planet with furry creatures, and I think people will like that. It’s different from what we’ve been doing.”
